Cavapoo History

The Cavapoo breed is a designer pup, descended from the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Mini/Toy Poodle. After the Labradoodle and Goldendoodle gained a popular following, the Cavapoo puppies first appeared in Australia in the 1990s. They became one of Australia’s most popular dogs, even though they were a newer designer breed. This was mainly due to their great temperament, being well-behaved for people living in apartments or smaller homes, and not requiring as much exercise.

It’s super soft and comes in a wide range of colors; mostly black, brown, tricolor, white and yellow. Like most crossbreeds, the Cavapoo puppies can either mimic one or both of its parents’ looks. Despite some similarities with the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and the Poodle, the Cavapoos most significant physical quality is its short and flat coat.

It is recommended that you brush your Cavapoo  puppy every other day, depending on how much time he needs to be kept clean and tidy. You should cut his hair every six to eight weeks, which will also depend on how long he is allowed to grow out. Bathing your Cavapoo should be done about once a month, but you can do it more often if he gets into something particularly dirty. Cleaning his ears and brushing his teeth should be done at least once a week, if not more often. Brushing your Cavapoo is important for keeping him clean and shiny. It will also ensure that his coat does not get matted and tangled up as this can lead to pain for him when brushed or washed with shampoo. If there are any mats in his coat, use a special detangling product or simply cut them out so they don’t cause any further problems down the line.
